David Alan Welsh, 72, of rural Queen City, Missouri, passed away March 4, 2015, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. David was born on February 16, 1943 in Glenwood, Missouri. David spent the majority of his life as a cosmetologist in Kirksville, MO. He was an instructor at the Kirksville College of Cosmetology. David was a talented musician, playing the saxophone on any given weekend.
In the late 1980′s, David moved to St. Joseph, MO where he sold insurance for Mutual of Omaha. In 1990 David moved to Columbia, MO. During his time in Columbia he owned Bluff Wood Calls, making duck and turkey calls. In 2009 David moved to rural Queen City, MO to live with his family.
David was an avid outdoorsman and was well known for his mastery skills of duck and turkey call creation. He was actively involved in the Kirksville Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and National Wild Turkey Federation. David won numerous turkey calling contests including the Grand National Finals in 1985
